Claudia Cromley

Actor, Creator, Collaborator

“The artist sees what others only catch a glimpse of”

-Leonardo da Vinci

I am on a never-ending journey to find new ways to innovate and create collaborative work in theatre.  I strive to utilize art as a form of connection and communication between those participating and those who are watching it unfold.  The method of creating is vital to me, and the magic of creating together is something I believe to be priceless within theatre and my own personal work.
I am also a communication major that translates my non-verbal specialty to my work.  The connection that the stage and actors have nonverbally to the audience is so special, and I love using the souls of each human intertwined to produce meaningful art. This non-verbal communication also translates to movement, and I am inspired by the wordless conversations that are had between actors and audiences, as well as the sung conversations and the meanings held underneath the melody.  Seeing the growth and the learning that comes with theatre is a part of who I am, and I love being a part of that experience for others.

As an artistic professional, Claudia Cromley is always looking for the next opportunity to translate herself into her art in many mediums. Some of her experiences include Marie Curie Horror Story at BorderLight Fringe as Catherine,

The Mermaid Within at Cleveland Public Theatre as Mermaid/Show Woman, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin at Karamu House as Chitty Chatty and Tallulah, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at CSU Department of Theatre and Dance as Mrs. Lovett, and She Loves Me at CSU Department of Theatre and Dance as Amalia Balash. She was also the music director for Ancestra and assistant director for The Moors at CSU Department of Theatre and Dance. Claudia was contracted at Barberton Magical Theatre Co. as a traveling Improv and Actor and at Cedar Point as an improv artist and main cast member for Snake River Expedition where she interacted with children and improved with her other castmates to bring a true and unique experience for each audience she encountered.  She has trained at Cleveland State University Department of Theatre and Dance with acting/movement/voice and speech training done by Holly Holsinger, singing/classical training done by Maria DiDonato, and psycho-physical training done by Toby Vera Bercovici. She has also taken master classes with Nicholas Rodriguez, an AEA actor, Victor Jackson, Choreographer and Creative Director, and with Jessica Joy, a performer with Second City Improv.
